The Zero-Waste Movement

The zero-waste movement is a lifestyle where people aim to eliminate their trash output completely. This means no plastic, no wrappers, no garbage. While this may seem like an unrealistic task in today’s very disposable society, everyday people all over the country are showing that it can be done. By reevaluating the way they approach the concept of trash, these leaders of the zero-waste movement are teaching the world that we all have the ability to make a difference in protecting our environment.

The owner was so friendly and informative! The store had great options, including a soap dish I haven’t seen elsewhere and plant-based, vegan dryer balls (as opposed to wool) that are made locally and only available here! She accepts vitamin bottles, glass bottles/jars/containers, and razor heads as well—and if you forgot a container, you can use the glass jars others have brought in! I look forward to returning here to refill!!

Great find! Nice store that is well-stocked with bulk ingredients and low/zero-waste products. I got farm fresh eggs, dried mangoes, and homemade soap. They also have goodies like bamboo toothbrushes & loofas that make great gifts to introduce friends to the zero-waste lifestyle. The owner is also a woman POC

Love this local and black owned business. Such a wide variety and good selection. From spices or bakery items to cold brew coffee to tooth paste to oils to composting materials. And all are good for the environment. I feel better buying from her. And the toothpaste tablets are great!!

Had a great experience! They have a lot of spices, teas, pasta, beans, nuts, home goods and beauty products. I was able to refill all my spices and cleaning products there for the same or lower than the grocery store store price for the same natural products. They have this running counter of how much plastic the community has saved by refilling, which was already over 46,000 containers after she had been open just 2 months! It's so cool!

This was my first experience at a market like this. The concept is really cool and I think if enough people catch on, this could be a revolutionary way to preserve our planet. The store is very clean and easy to navigate. The items at the store are your everyday cooking/baking and cleaning products. I was surprised by how easy it was to shop and find the things I needed. I was also pleasantly surprised with the prices. I definitely saved money by shopping here because I was able to only take the amount I needed of certain food items. Sabrina, the store owner is very helpful and very informative. Highly recommend you swing by to give it a try.
